Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Julian Demaestri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CJ De Vries (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). CJ De Vries has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Julian Demaestri's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Julian Demaestri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, CJ De Vries!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Vries throws a left and a right that both miss

and Demaestri counters with a nice double leg into side control. De Vries won't be happy with that.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Demaestri is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. De Vries knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

De Vries must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That was a close round but I would say that Julian Demaestri will probably get the nod.

De Vries got a little sloppy there for a moment and Demaestri has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, De Vries has managed to get both his arms back between Demaestri's legs - danger averted.

Demaestri gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows De Vries to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Demaestri can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as De Vries controls the pace.

Demaestri has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but De Vries can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

De Vries looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Demaestri with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Demaestri is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but De Vries pulls his head out easily.

CJ De Vries showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Demaestri's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

OK we're going to have a standup here. CJ De Vries hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

This one could be over very soon! De Vries goes limp - he's gone! Demaestri jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

After the fight, Julian Demaestri was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
