Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Haryy Houdini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kanbei Shimada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shimada comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Party and Bullshit kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Kanbei Shimada told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Haryy Houdini!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

20 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kanbei Shimada!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Houdini clinches up with Shimada and pushes him back against the cage.
Shimada tries to throw a body punch but Houdini avoids it by throwing Shimada back against the cage.
Houdini jumps into guard, dragging Shimada to the mat.
Houdini wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Shimada must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Houdini has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That was a close round but I would say that Haryy Houdini will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
The fighters circle momentarily. Shimada darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Houdini takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Houdini shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shimada but Shimada pushes him off and we're back to square one.

We're going to have a standup here because Haryy Houdini wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Shimada enables Houdini to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Shimada manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Shimada feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
