The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter throws a right and a left that Arce avoids nicely. Carter throws a right hand that Arce ducks under and follows up with a left that Arce also avoids with ease. Arce misses with the combination.
Carter misses with a wild combination.
Arce tries to bum rush Carter with a series of wild strikes but Carter uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Arce avoids a punch combination nicely.
Arce tries to clinch but fails miserably and Carter counters with a lovely straight right hand! Arce fails with an attempt to clinch.
Carter misses with a jab, cross combination.
Arce tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carter swats him away and circles back towards the center. Carter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Arce. Carter misses with the combination.
Arce throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arce throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Carter sees it coming and avoids it easily. Carter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Arce checks a low kick from Carter. Carter takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Carter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Carter shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Carter feints and as Arce raises his hands in defense, Carter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Arce tries to land a sweep but no joy. Arce looking for a triangle here. Carter is fighting it but it looks tight! Arce pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Carter is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Franco Arce! Franco Arce spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
