Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Watts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Lang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Watts comes to the cage accompanied by Seek and Destroy. The crowd seem to be enjoying Lang's choice of entrance music: Ice cream paint job. Andrew Watts has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Watts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Lang! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lang gets in close and instigates a clinch. Watts tries for a takedown but Lang manages to get underhooks.
Lang lands on the inside with an uppercut. Lang is leaning against Watts and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Lang lands a shoulder strike. Lang slowing the pace effectively. Lang lands a body punch in the clinch. Lang gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Watts.
Watts tries for a takedown but Lang manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Watts. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lang stalling the fight.
Still in the clinch, Lang scores with a nice short uppercut. A short right from Lang on the inside. Watts drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lang gets the underhooks and prevents it.

This has been an exciting period of action! Watts is looking for a takedown. Lang's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Lang lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Watts backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lang is defending well against a takedown attempt. Lang scores with a shoulder strike. Lang scores with a nice hook to the head. Lang lands with a right to the head. A body shot lands from Lang.
Watts is breathing heavily. Watts goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lang prevents it.

Lang working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Lang tightens his grip and picks Watts up, before dumping him to the ground. Watts manages to land in guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Lang looking to pass the guard. Lang passes easily into side control. Nice work. Watts taking punishment in the form of punches.
Lang tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lang slows the pace down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lang trying to control the action but Watts is working from the bottom. Lang scores with a couple of short elbows. Lang in side control, just content to control the action for now. Watts tries to improve position but can't. Lang is looking to take a break and control but Watts is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lang landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lang gets to mount! Watts was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Watts tries to get back to half guard but can't. Lang looking to control and managing it successfully. Lang can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Watts is looking to escape. Lang sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Lang dominating with strikes here. Lang trying to control but he's not successful this time. Lang is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Watts can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Lang looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Lang is in the full mount, landing strikes. Lang landing strikes, looking to finish! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lang tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Lang lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Watts hang on? Lang cracks Watts with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The referee warns Watts that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Lang scoring with strikes but Watts is staying in there.
Watts is rocked! Lang putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Oh Watts is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Lang controlling from the full mount. Lang drops a big elbow. That's hurt Watts! More shots from Lang and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Lang! David Lang opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
