Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Paul Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sebastian Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Smith might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to call to prayer. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sebastian Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalski wants to clinch

so Smith counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kowalski keeping full guard, as Smith tries to pass.
Kowalski wants to stand up but Smith is controlling him.
Smith lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kowalski can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kowalski wants to stand up but Smith is controlling him.

Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Smith has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kowalski has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Smith is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Kowalski defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Smith is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Kowalski is defending well though. Smith let's go of the attempt for now.
Kowalski is trying to get back to his feet but Smith has full control of the position and if anything, Kowalski has just worked his way into a worse spot.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kowalski is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Smith off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Kowalski moves into the clinch.

Kowalski unloads a knee to the mid-section. Smith lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Smith has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kowalski avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Smith has Kowalski pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kowalski manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Kowalski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Smith shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Smith was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kowalski tries to escape but Smith is in control.
Kowalski is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Smith has control of Kowalski's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kowalski regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Smith is looking to work his way around to Kowalski's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Smith is working for a guillotine from mount but Kowalski frees his head quite easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Smith is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Kowalski has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Kowalski!
Kowalski must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
