Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Timmy Crain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maria Ozawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ozawa moves in looking to clinch but Crain pushes him off.
Ozawa tries to close the distance and clinch up but Crain swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ozawa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Crain tries to clinch but Ozawa is having none of it.
Crain really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ozawa is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Crain.
Crain looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ozawa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Crain shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ozawa as he jumps to the side.

Ozawa jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Crain walks away with a smile on his face. Ozawa gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nice takedown defense from Ozawa. No joy for Crain on that attempt.

Maria Ozawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Crain tries to keep at a distance but Ozawa has taken the fight into the clinch.

Ozawa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Crain walks forward, straight into a front kick from Ozawa.
Ozawa doesn't manage to clinch there - Crain circles away.

The fighters circle momentarily. Crain darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Ozawa lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Ozawa manages to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Crain has gone for a leg lock! Ozawa slips out almost immediately though and dives into Crain's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Crain wants to get back to his feet but Ozawa is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Ozawa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ozawa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Crain has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ozawa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ozawa distracts Crain with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Ozawa would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Crain escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ozawa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Crain controls Ozawa momentarily but Ozawa frees himself.
Ozawa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ozawa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Crain. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ozawa tries to free his leg and advance position but Crain is retaining full guard.
Crain throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Crain is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Crain pushes Ozawa off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Ozawa moves in looking to clinch but Crain pushes him off.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Crain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Crain stands up.
Crain throws a right hand that Ozawa ducks under and follows up with a left that Ozawa also avoids with ease.
Crain throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ozawa on the side of the head.

Crain changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ozawa tries to avoid it but Crain manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ozawa to the ground. Ozawa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ozawa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Crain with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ozawa lands a nice short elbow.

Ozawa is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Crain still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Crain has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ozawa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ozawa is not content to let Crain control the position.
