Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jitsu Brown Belt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ward throws a low kick but Brown Belt avoids it.
Ward fails to land the takedown.
Brown Belt throws the left hand but Ward avoids the punch easily.
Ward misses with a takedown attempt - Brown Belt sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ward moves out of range of the body kick from Brown Belt.
The fighters circling - Brown Belt throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Brown Belt fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ward manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ward looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brown Belt is fending him off so far but Ward persists. Nope, Brown Belt circles away and we're back to standing.

Ward throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brown Belt's waist but Brown Belt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ward off to one side.
Brown Belt does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Ward gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Brown Belt is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Brown Belt seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ward for as long as he can get away with.

Ward wants to get back to his feet but Brown Belt is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Brown Belt's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Jitsu Brown Belt just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Ward with a poor takedown
and Brown Belt counters with a single leg into guard. Ward didn't expect that.
Ward can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Brown Belt controls the pace.

Ward is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ward working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brown Belt doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Ward is tightening it up a little... Brown Belt has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Brown Belt reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Brown Belt taps out! nice BJJ there by Ward!
