Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lester Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Romano Schoots (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lester Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Romano Schoots!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schoots takes the fight into the clinch.
Stalling in the clinch from Schoots.
Schoots with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Green blocks an uppercut.
Schoots with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Schoots working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Green lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Schoots backwards.
Schoots lands a knee to the body.
Schoots goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Green misses with a hook to the ribs.
Schoots with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Schoots throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Green blocks it with crossed arms.

Green breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Green avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Schoots looks to throw the jab but Green is out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Schoots. Green does a little dance to reset his feet.
Romano Schoots seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Green on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Schoots lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Green throws an overhand right that lands on Schoots's shoulder, as Schoots tries to avoid the shot.
Schoots swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Schoots throws a lazy right hand but Green sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Green slips a straight right by Schoots.
Schoots thows a body shot but no joy.
Schoots smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Green has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Schoots avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lester Green. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Green pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Schoots lands with a nice combination. Green backs away looking to recover.
Schoots looks to land a combination but Green avoids it well.
Schoots avoids the head kick by Green.
Schoots lands with a hook. Green tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Green drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Green tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Schoots swivels and escapes.

Green tries to move into range but Schoots moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Green ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Green manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Schoots on his heels. He'll look to pass Schoots's guard now, I'm sure.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Green passes Schoots's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Schoots wants to control but Green is keeping busy.
Green thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Schoots's head.
Green is trying to control the action in half guard but Schoots is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Schoots has hold of Green's hands but Green slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Green prevents Schoots from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Romano Schoots dominated that round.
That's time! Green's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Schoots bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Green's head backwards.
Schoots ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Green moves away.
Schoots throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Green stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Green defending well as Schoots loads up on a big left hand.
Schoots pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Green gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Schoots misses with a double jab.
Schoots tries a head kick but it misses.
Schoots missing with a left hand there. Green was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Green looks up at the clock and then as Schoots takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Green smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The strikes coming from Green are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Green works to advance to full mount. Schoots defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Green is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Schoots to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Schoots shrugs it off.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Romano Schoots showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Green misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Lester Green overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Green tries to score with some ground and pound. Schoots controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Green is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Schoots defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Green is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Green is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Schoots defends well.

I think Schoots has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
