Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Taylor ! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Diaz with a hook. Taylor is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Diaz. Diaz lands a jab to the nose. Nice shot by Taylor . Diaz throws a series of punches but Taylor moves out of range. Diaz misses with a few strikes there.

Diaz thuds his right hand into Taylor 's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Diaz slips a straight right by Taylor . Diaz throws a right and a left that both miss. No joy there for Diaz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Diaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Diaz looks to land a combination but Taylor avoids it well. Taylor throws a hook but Diaz blocks it. Diaz throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Taylor forces Diaz back against the cage and clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Taylor just stands there and leans against the cage. Nice body punch from Taylor . A nice right hand lands inside from Taylor . Taylor blocks a body shot from Diaz. A hook to the body from Taylor .
Taylor softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Taylor is leaning against Diaz and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Taylor lands a body shot. Taylor digs a right hand into Diaz's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Diaz's gas tank. Taylor just leaning against Diaz, taking a breather. Taylor tightens his grip and picks Diaz up, before dumping him to the ground. Diaz manages to land in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Taylor trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom. Diaz keeping full guard, as Taylor tries to pass. Taylor is in close to Diaz's body, working some short punches and elbows. Diaz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Taylor can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taylor pushes down on Diaz's leg and manages to get into half guard. Diaz is refusing to be controlled, as Taylor sits in half guard. Taylor working the head and body with strikes. Taylor is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Taylor scoring with strikes to the body and head. Taylor lands with a punch from half guard. Diaz is looking for a sweep. Taylor is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Taylor looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Diaz works his way to full guard. Good work. Diaz working for a triangle but Taylor defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Taylor 's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Taylor pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Diaz is keeping the position for now. Taylor stands up over Diaz, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Taylor advances position into side control! Taylor lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Diaz down.
Taylor cracks Diaz with a big right hand but Diaz just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Diaz gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Taylor in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Taylor with the ground and pound from mount. Taylor has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Diaz's face.
Diaz is rocked! Diaz takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Taylor 's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Taylor ! David Taylor really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that //buriedALIVE// Fight Gear logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
