The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Greenthumb manages to avoid it.
A lazy body kick from Costa
and Greenthumb counters with a nice body shot.
Greenthumb wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Costa misses with a low kick.
Costa throws a lazy uppercut
and Greenthumb connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Greenthumb lands with a cross.
Greenthumb throws a predictable looking body shot
and Costa counters with a straight right hand.
Costa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Greenthumb moves away.
Greenthumb tries to close the distance and clinch but Costa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Greenthumb.
Costa shoots for a double leg takedown but Greenthumb sprawls well. He's pushed Costa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Greenthumb tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Costa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Costa closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Greenthumb's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Greenthumb looking for a triangle here. Costa is fighting it but it looks tight! Greenthumb pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Costa is tapping out - this one is all over!

Doctor Greenthumb was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
