PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bb Esko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Bowman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bb Esko had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nathan Bowman!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Esko misses with the body kick
and Bowman counters with a series of strikes. Esko will be more careful next time no doubt.
Esko lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Nathan Bowman has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bowman throws his legs up looking for a submission but Esko uses it to pass to side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Bowman isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Esko stacks Bowman on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Esko!

Esko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bowman on the ground.

Esko manages to capitalize on a mistake by Bowman to take his back!

Bowman throws a solid leg kick but Esko takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bowman.

Bb Esko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bowman connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Esko's hands.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Esko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Bowman moves into the clinch successfully.

Bowman manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Esko wanted to stand there but Bowman had control of the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Esko trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Bowman has Esko pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Esko manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Bb Esko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathan Bowman.

The fight stays on the outside here - Bowman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Esko throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Nathan Bowman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Esko closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

and Esko counters with a crisp one two that drops Bowman! Esko thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Bowman to his feet! Bowman is in big trouble!

Bowman is looking to clinch but Esko is avoiding it.
Esko fails to land with a series of punches.

Esko is looking to break free of the clinch but Bowman has double underhooks.

Bowman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Esko pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bb Esko is winning the standup battle so far.
Bowman tries to clinch up but Esko circles away and keeps his distance.
Esko throws a head kick that misses.
Bowman seems to have recovered his senses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bowman has hold of Esko's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Esko tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Bowman cranks the arm and Esko screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Esko, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Nathan Bowman!
Nathan Bowman really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Cyclone Nutrition Company logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
