Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phil Ivey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexandr Romanov!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Ivey as he connects with a hook.
A punch combination from Ivey misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ivey looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Romanov misses with a hook. Ivey ducked under it nicely.
Ivey jabs Romanov to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Romanov takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Ivey stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ivey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Romanov moves away.
Alexandr Romanov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Romanov throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Romanov misses with a hook.
Romanov throws a quick inside leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ivey throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Romanov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ivey thows a body shot but no joy.
Ivey misses with a jab, cross combination.
Romanov takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Ivey misses with a head kick.
Ivey looks to land a left hand but Romanov moved out of range nicely.
Romanov throws a leg kick
and Ivey counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Ivey thows a body shot but no joy.
Jab, jab by Ivey - just one landing.
Romanov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ivey.
Sloppy strikes from Romanov. Those never looked like landing.
Nice jab there from Romanov.
Romanov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Romanov throws a quick inside leg kick.
Ivey scores with a hook.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Romanov checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Ivey moves out of range of the leg kick from Romanov.
A combination from Ivey does no damage.

Romanov lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ivey at a distance.
Ivey walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Romanov checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Romanov buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Romanov slips under a jab.
Romanov misses with a looping right.
Romanov lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Ivey has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Romanov.
Ivey is breathing heavily.
Romanov misses with a low kick.
Romanov throws a nice inside leg kick.
Ivey missing with a left hand there. Romanov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ivey misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Romanov.
Ivey throws a lazy head kick
and Romanov counters with a good low kick that Ivey was not able to check.

Ivey tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Romanov moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Ivey avoids the head kick by Romanov.
Romanov ducks under a wild hook from Ivey.
Ivey displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Romanov throws out the jab.
Ivey loads up on a big right hand but Romanov slips the punch.
Romanov scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Romanov drops Ivey with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ivey looks back up at him and smiles so Romanov waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Ivey is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Romanov steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Ivey is out on his feet! Romanov sets himself and nearly takes Ivey's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Alexandr Romanov!
An out of breath Alexandr Romanov thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
