Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seany Scholes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scholes comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Wonderwall - Oasis kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be fireworks!

10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Scott Lewis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Seany Scholes! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed right hand from Lewis misses the target. Lewis lands a nice looking body shot.
Lewis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Scholes avoids it really well and circles away. Lewis looks to score with a jab to the body but Scholes is just out of range. Lewis throws a good cross that connects.
Lewis misses with a straight right. Scholes takes a swing at Lewis's ribcage but misses. Scholes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lewis.

and Scholes counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Scholes. Scholes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Scholes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lewis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lewis showed some decent athleticism there. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Lewis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Scholes defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scholes is pressing down on Lewis's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Lewis is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Lewis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Scholes is keeping the position for now. Scholes wants to get back to his feet but Lewis is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Lewis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Lewis with a flurry of punches that miss. Lewis trying to control but Scholes is working from the bottom. Scholes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lewis defends well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lewis prevents Scholes from getting back to his feet. Lewis slips nicely into half guard. Scholes pushes Lewis off looking to stand but Lewis dives back in and keeps control.

Scholes works his way to full guard. Good work. Lewis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Scholes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lewis has managed to get both his arms back between Scholes's legs - danger averted. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Scholes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lewis scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but Scholes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scholes wants to sweep but no luck. Lewis postures up.
Lewis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Lewis trying to control but Scholes is working from the bottom. Lewis stopping the sweep attempt from Scholes. Scholes is trying to control the position but Lewis postures up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Lewis looks to land a right hand but Scholes moved out of range. Horrible takedown by Lewis or perhaps it was just good defense by Scholes which made him look bad. Scholes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lewis pinned against the cage. Lewis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lewis shoots and misses and Lewis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Lewis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scholes shoots in and gets a takedown into Lewis's guard. Scholes wants to control from the top but Lewis keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lewis is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Lewis wants to stand up but Scholes is controlling him. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lewis has his hands on Scholes's head, controlling the position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Lewis throws a jab but it's blocked by Scholes. That was a close round but I would say that Scott Lewis will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A glancing blow. Scholes uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lewis. Donk. Lewis catches Scholes right on the button with a cross. The fighters circling - Lewis throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Scholes scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Scholes tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Lewis wants to get back to full guard but Scholes has passed into side control. Scholes working away. Lewis gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Scholes tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lewis knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lewis is looking for a sweep. Scholes is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Scholes is looking to take a break and control but Lewis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lewis tries to get to full guard but Scholes has control of the leg. It looks like Scholes is going to stand back up.
Scholes seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lewis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Seany Scholes was stalling too much, according to the referee. Lewis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Scholes takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis tries to keep at a distance but Scholes has taken the fight into the clinch. Scholes looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Stalling in the clinch from Scholes.

Scholes has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lewis uses from the top position. Lewis passes into half guard. Scholes wants to improve his position but Lewis is controlling well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lewis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Scholes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Scholes takes one to the chin there. Scholes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lewis was well out of range. Poor timing from Scholes. Lewis feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Scholess jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Lewis moves into range and connects with a jab. Scholes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lewis moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Lewis defending well as Scholes loads up on a big left hand. Lewis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Scholes moves away. A jab lands there for Lewis. Lewis waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Scholes. Scholes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lewis.

Scholes is in trouble now - Lewis has advanced to mount! Lewis raining down hammerfists from mount. Scholes is trying to escape the mount.
Scholes is squirming around, avoiding Lewis's attempts to control the action. Scholes is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Scott Lewis is winning the standup battle so far. Lewis connects with a crisp jab. Scholes gets a clinch. Lewis lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Scholes fails to pull guard.

Seany Scholes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Scholes jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lewis walks away with a smile on his face. Scholes gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Seany Scholes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lewis misses with a body shot.
Lewis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Scholes but Scholes pushes him off and we're back to square one. Lewis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

And that's the end of the fight! Scott Lewis showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lewis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
