Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Coll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ernie Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ernie Wright!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright throws an off balance right hand

and Coll holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Wright.
Coll with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Ernie Wright has been cut.

Wright displaying some good clinch control by pressing Coll up against the cage.
Wright receives a warning from the referee for stalling.

Wright's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Wright escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Coll counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Coll pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wright throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Coll connects with a body shot that sends Wright's belly button to the back.
Wright is trying hard to land a takedown here. Coll sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Coll has managed to clinch.
Wright throws a punch but it's blocked by Coll.
Wright looking to stall.

Coll escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wright shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Wright looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Coll trying to control from the bottom.

Wright is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Coll doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wright.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Coll tries to clinch up

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
and Wright counters with a shoot takedown. Coll fights it but they end up in guard.
Wright stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Coll swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Coll controls Wright momentarily but Wright frees himself.

Wright wants to control from the top but Coll keeps moving.
Coll wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Vincent Coll wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Wright connects with a solid leg kick.
Wright lands a nice looking body shot.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Wright lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Coll has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Coll and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Coll throws a looping overhand right but Wright ducks down to avoid it.
Wright is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Coll.
Wright tries for a takedown but Coll sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Wright counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Wright counters with a nice body shot.

Coll tries to clinch there but Wright circles away.
Good work by Wright as he checks the leg kick.
Coll is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wright.
Wright plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Coll misses with a hook
and Wright counters with a straight right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wright lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Vincent Coll is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Coll goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Wright looks to land a body kick but Coll moved away.
Coll doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Coll on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Wright. Wright obviously looking to wear him down.
Wright throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Coll looks to clinch
and Wright counters with a nice uppercut.
Wright connects with the punch.
Coll tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wright swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Vincent Coll seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight stays on the outside here - Coll looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Wright throws a head kick but Coll moves out of range.

Coll tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Wright manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Coll crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Wright - the referee stops the clock and Coll gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Wright. Coll manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

A head punch on the inside from Wright fails to land.
Wright lands a hook that snaps the head of Coll backwards.
Wright tries to break the clinch but Coll is controlling the position.

Wright's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Coll misses with a head kick.
Wright shoots for a takedown but Coll saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Coll tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Coll fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Wright checks it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Coll throws a shot from downtown. Wright moves away and avoids it.
Coll takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Ernie Wright showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Coll uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wright.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Wright stands and throws Coll's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Wright is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Coll knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Coll is trying to control Wright's posture but Wright avoids it.

Wright tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wright has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Ernie Wright comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Wright has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
