The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torrio closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Torrio lands in his opponent's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Torrio slips nicely into half guard.
Torrio perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Xiilianiatoph is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Torrio wants to lay and pray for a moment but Xiilianiatoph keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Torrio looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Xiilianiatoph pushes Torrio off looking to stand but Torrio dives back in and keeps control.
Torrio is trying to control. Xiilianiatoph wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Torrio seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Torrio is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Xiilianiatoph doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Torrio.
