PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Unigu Rege (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reece Edward Duenas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duenas is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: California Gurls. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rege closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Rege is looking for a kimura but Duenas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rege to get the leverage.

Rege wants to stand but Duenas has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Rege moves into full mount! Duenas won't be happy about that!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Rege gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Rege apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Duenas pushes off an throws an elbow but Rege leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Rege tries to close the distance and clinch up but Duenas swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Rege shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Duenas as he avoids it easily.
Rege uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Duenas.
No joy there for Duenas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rege changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Duenas tries to avoid it but Rege manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Duenas to the ground. Duenas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Unigu Rege.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rege, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
