PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harris comes to the cage accompanied by Kiss Me I'm Shit Faced. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marshall Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick misses from Harris.
Harris tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Harris shoots for a takedown but Hunt saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hunt is trying hard to land a takedown here. Harris sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Hunt looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hunt sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Harris defending well though.

Hunt is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Harris has managed to free his arm - good work.
Hunt is keen to just control but Harris is a slippery customer.
Harris avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hunt.

Harris keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Hunt missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Hunt scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Hunt not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Hunt is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Harris doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hunt.

Hunt is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Harris defends it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hunt throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Harris manages to escape and get back to his feet!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hunt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Harris paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hunt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Harris as he jumps to the side.

Harris shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hunt's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harris drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hunt manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Harris has Hunt in his guard.
Hunt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hunt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hunt postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Hunt working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Harris wriggles free and stands up.
Harris scores with a head kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Harris looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hunt!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Harris tries for a kimura but Hunt is defending well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Harris working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marshall Harris will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hunt is defended easily by Harris.

Harris fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hunt sprawls well initially but Harris persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hunt is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Harris is working for a kimura but Hunt is defending it quite comfortably.
Harris tries to pass to full mount but Hunt defends it.

Harris is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hunt doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Harris.

Hunt is defending against the submission attempts here by Harris.
Marshall Harris overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Harris is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Hunt is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Marshall Harris!
