Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Asbolus Pholus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorgip Wallrium (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jorgip Wallrium is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Asbolus Pholus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jorgip Wallrium!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pholus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wallrium as he jumps to the side.
Jorgip Wallrium seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wallrium fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wallrium instigates a clinch.
Wallrium lands a nice elbow.
Wallrium comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Wallrium is pressed up against the cage. Pholus has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wallrium down to the mat. Wallrium avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Pholus shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wallrium sprawls well. Wallrium wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pholus gets slowly back to his feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Wallrium looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

You get the feeling that Pholus really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Pholus throws a leg kick but Wallrium sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Pholus shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Pholus is looking to take a break and control but Wallrium is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pholus is stalling here. Wallrium is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Pholus seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Wallrium has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Wallrium wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pholus keeps working.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Wallrium decides to stand up, so the ref orders Pholus to his feet.
Wallrium fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pholus, pushing him back against the cage.

Pholus is trying to drag Wallrium to the mat but Wallrium just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wallrium is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
