Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ryszard Duch!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Van Koos fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Duch sprawls well initially but Van Koos persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Van Koos is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Duch looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Duch avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Van Koos.
Van Koos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Duch on the ground.
Van Koos misses with a head shot. Duch uses the momentum to regain guard.

Duch had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Van Koos defends it easily.
Van Koos cracks Duch with a solid left hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Van Koos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Van Koos throws a big right hand that misses.

Van Koos avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Van Koos got a little sloppy there for a moment and Duch has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Van Koos has managed to get both his arms back between Duch's legs - danger averted.

Van Koos is working Duch over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Van Koos throws an elbow that misses. Duch uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Van Koos's guard. Nice move by Duch!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Duch drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Van Koos dives on top into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Van Koos throws a strike but Duch rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Duch thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Duch drops back, looking for a kneebar! Van Koos looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Van Koos looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Van Koos!

Duch on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Van Koos postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Duch is looking for a sweep.
Duch manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Duch is staying active underneath Van Koos, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Duch is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Van Koos is tapping! Great win for Duch!

Ryszard Duch was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
