Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mohammad Al Nasser! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roger Simms! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Simms moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Simms shoots in and gets a takedown into Al Nasser's guard. Simms avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Simms tries to free his leg and advance position but Al Nasser is retaining full guard. Al Nasser keeping moving, preventing Simms from controlling successfully. Simms is in close to Al Nasser's body, working some short punches and elbows. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Simms preventing the sweep. Simms in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Simms missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Simms trying to control the position from guard on top but Al Nasser is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Simms stands up over Al Nasser, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Al Nasser might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Simms wants to stand but Al Nasser is controlling his posture from full guard. Al Nasser keeping full guard, as Simms tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Simms distracts Al Nasser with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Simms wants to pass the guard but Al Nasser is keeping the position. Simms is working Al Nasser over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Simms really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Al Nasser. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Simms working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Al Nasser has his feet on Simms's thighs here. He's pushed Simms off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Simms screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
