Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Randy Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bowman Rook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Turner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Bowman Rook! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rook takes a shot right to the bread basket. An inside leg kick lands from Turner. Turner tries to land a front kick but Rook steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Rook throws a sloppy head kick and Turner moves out of range easily. Turner looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Rook!
A low kick from Turner is predictable there and Rook counters with a nice double leg into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Rook throwing shots but Turner is blocking nicely. Rook thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Turner's head. Rook thows a huge punch but Turner dodges it nicely.
Turner avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rook. Rook is looking to take a break and control but Turner is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Turner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rook on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rook connects with a nice short shot to Turner's temple. Turner blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rook. Turner slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Rook trying to control but Turner is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rook drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rook jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Turner avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rook working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Rook pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Turner is keeping the position for now. Rook not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rook accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rook is looking to work some ground and pound but Turner has wrist control. Rook loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rook tries to free his leg and advance position but Turner is retaining full guard. Turner utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rook trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Turner trying to control the position.
Rook throws a big elbow that misses. Rook is in close to Turner's body, working some short punches and elbows. Turner is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rook postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Rook trying to control the position from guard on top but Turner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rook throwing strikes but missing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rook postures up in Turner's guard and throws a big left but Turner blocks it. Rook missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rook working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Rook pushing down on Turner's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. The two fighters exchange a few words. Rook scoring with strikes to the body and head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rook tries to pass the half guard into mount. Turner knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Rook not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bowman Rook dominated that round. That's time! Turner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Rook cracks Turner with a right hand to the side of the head. Rook bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Turner's head backwards. Turner stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Turner wants it to stay on the feet. Turner looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Rook connects with a body shot that sends Turner's belly button to the back. Turner circles away from the clinch attempt.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Turner. Turner throws a body kick that misses. Rook lands a nice hook to Turner's body. Turner takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. A low kick from Turner is predictable there and Rook counters with an inside leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turner throws a leg kick but Rook sees it coming and checks it nicely. Randy Turner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rook throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rook throws a body kick that misses. Turner shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Turner avoids the body shot from Rook.
Rook fails in his attempt to clinch. Turner tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Rook looks for a takedown but Turner sprawls well. Turner swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Turner pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rook has a takedown stuffed. Randy Turner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bowman Rook. Turner pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Rook closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Turner quickly recovers to half guard. Rook sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Turner defending well though. Turner is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bowman Rook has got the better of the ground game so far. Rook is keen to just control but Turner is a slippery customer. Rook is looking for a kimura but Turner is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rook to get the leverage.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rook working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Turner's head. Rook wants to pass the guard but Turner is keeping the position. Rook distracts Turner with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Turner is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rook landing with the ground and pound. Oh Turner is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rook arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Turner's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Bowman Rook! Bowman Rook was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
