Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alan Kolodin!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thorpe drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Kolodin gets back to half guard.
Thorpe is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Thorpe is thwarting Kolodin's attempts to control the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Alan Kolodin hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Thorpe looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Kolodin shoots in looking for a takedown. Thorpe tries to sprawl out of it but Kolodin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Thorpe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Thorpe is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Kolodin has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Kolodin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Thorpe knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Thorpe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kolodin on the ground.
Kolodin is putting a hurting on Thorpe here, landing some big shots from side control.
