Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kivi Kasvo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Uzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kasvo comes to the cage accompanied by Danzig Mother. Uzi has chosen Slayer - Angel of Death as his entrance music. Kivi Kasvo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Kivi Kasvo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kurt Uzi!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uzi takes a swing at Kasvo's ribcage but misses.
Kasvo fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kasvo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.


It looks like Kurt Uzi has been cut.
Uzi misses with a head kick.
Kasvo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Kasvo throws a jab but it's blocked by Uzi.

Uzi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Uzi is looking to take a break and control but Kasvo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Uzi is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Uzi is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Kasvo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Uzi.
Uzi missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Uzi works his way into side control.
Kasvo gets back to half guard.
Uzi slows the pace down in half guard.

Uzi is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Uzi tries to pass to full mount but Kasvo defends it.
Uzi content to control rather than advance.
Kasvo is looking for a sweep. Uzi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kasvo is working hard here to advance position.

Uzi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kasvo defends it well.
Uzi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Uzi working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kasvo is refusing to be controlled, as Uzi sits in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Uzi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Uzi wants to pass the guard but Kasvo is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Uzi thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kurt Uzi dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kurt Uzi's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Uzi throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kasvo's head.


It looks like Kivi Kasvo has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kasvo fails to land the takedown.
Uzi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kasvo pinned against the cage. Kasvo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Uzi looks for a takedown but Kasvo sprawls well.
Uzi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kasvo throws out the jab.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Uzi.
Kivi Kasvo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kurt Uzi.
Kasvo stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Uzi closes the distance and clinches up with Kasvo, looking for a takedown. Uzi pushes Kasvo against the cage but Kasvo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Kasvo shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Uzi wants to improve his position but Kasvo is controlling well.

Kasvo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Uzi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Kasvo looking to pass the guard.
Uzi is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kurt Uzi has got the better of the ground game so far.
Uzi is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kasvo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Uzi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kasvo, into his guard.

Uzi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kasvo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kasvo has escaped and now he's on top!

Kasvo cracks Uzi with a solid left hand.
Kasvo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Uzi seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Uzi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kasvo is one step ahead there.
Kasvo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Uzi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Kasvo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Uzi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kasvo has managed to get both his arms back between Uzi's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kurt Uzi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Kasvo keeps the fight on the outside.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kasvo, as that shot connected.
Kasvo throws a lazy right hand but Uzi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Uzi is defended easily by Kasvo.
Kasvo cracks Uzi with an open hand slap.
Kasvo throws out a loose jab but Uzi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kasvo clobbers Uzi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Kasvo listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Uzi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kasvo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kasvo throws an overhand right that lands on Uzi's shoulder, as Uzi tries to avoid the shot.
Kasvo keeps the fight on the outside.
Kasvo misses with a hook. Uzi ducked under it nicely.

Kasvo fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


That has opened up Kurt Uzi's cut even more.
Uzi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kasvo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Nice defenses there by Uzi.
Kasvo keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Kivi Kasvo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Uzi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kasvo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Kasvo fails to land with a series of punches.
Uzi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kasvo throws a hook but Uzi blocks it.
Kasvo lands a lovely overhand right.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Uzi takes one on the chin but seems OK.


Uzi is rocked!


The cut above Kurt Uzi's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Uzi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kasvo.
Uzi is still on wobbly legs! Can Kasvo finish him?

Kasvo rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Uzi counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Uzi is looking to work some ground and pound but Kasvo has wrist control.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kasvo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Uzi defends it easily.
Uzi seems to have recovered his senses.
Uzi lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Kurt Uzi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Uzi with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

I would just about give that final round to Kurt Uzi.
