Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Greg Lupul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Piotrowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lupul might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Strangled With A Halo, Pig Destroyer. Greg Lupul has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Greg Lupul! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Robert Piotrowski! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.

Lupul moves into the clinch successfully.

Lupul is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lupul is looking to stand up but Piotrowski isn't so interested in that idea. Lupul wants to sweep here but Piotrowski controlling him for the moment. Piotrowski trying to control but Lupul is working from the bottom.

Lupul bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Piotrowski tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lupul cracks Piotrowski with a big elbow. Lupul tries to score with some ground and pound. Piotrowski controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Lupul decides to stand up, so the ref orders Piotrowski to his feet.
Lupul looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Lupul throwing strikes but missing.
Piotrowski is looking for a triangle but Lupul pushes his legs off easily.
Lupul thows a big elbow that misses. Piotrowski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Piotrowski avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Piotrowski has a closed guard, preventing Lupul from standing up. Lupul might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Lupul pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Piotrowski is keeping the position for now.

Lupul rushes Piotrowski and presses him up against the ropes. Lupul throws a head punch that misses. Lupul changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Piotrowski fights it off and pushes away nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Nice takedown defense from Lupul. No joy for Piotrowski on that attempt. Greg Lupul has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Piotrowski.
Piotrowski tries to keep at a distance but Lupul has taken the fight into the clinch. Lupul tries a knee to the head but Piotrowski blocks it.
A shot in the inside from Lupul. A short uppercut from Lupul. Lupul trying to stall but Piotrowski improves his position.
Lupul lands a damaging elbow.

It looks like Robert Piotrowski has been cut.
Lupul breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Piotrowski is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Lupul tries to clinch up.
Lupul gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Lupul lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Lupul turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Lupul tries to score with some ground and pound. Piotrowski controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Lupul working the ground and pound. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lupul decides to take the fight back to the feet. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lupul.
Lupul scoring well with a low kick there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Greg Lupul dominated that round. The cut man is working on Robert Piotrowski's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Lupul lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Lupul forces Piotrowski back against the ropes and clinches. Lupul leaning his opponent against the ropes. Piotrowski tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lupul smiles and moves away.
Lupul has closed the distance and engaged Piotrowski in a clinch.
Lupul lands an elbow inside. Lupul throws an elbow but it misses.
Lupul with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Lupul landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Lupul successfully pulls guard.
Lupul looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lupul has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Piotrowski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lupul is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Piotrowski has his hands clasped together but Lupul extends an breaks Piotrowski's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Lupul.
