PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Quentin Cane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toni Touhu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cane comes to the cage accompanied by Harder Than You Think. The crowd seem to be enjoying Touhu's choice of entrance music: AC/DC - TNT. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Touhu tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Touhu moves in looking to clinch but Cane pushes him off.
Touhu has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Touhu there as he acknowledges the shot.
Touhu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cane paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cane scores with a jab to the head.
Touhu has his takedown stuffed
and Cane counters with a straight right hand.
Cane thuds his right hand into Touhu's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Touhu is looking to clinch but Cane is avoiding it.

Cane slips a jab and a cross from Touhu.
Touhu tries to clinch but Cane moves out of range.
A big left from Cane misses.
Cane is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Cane throws a good cross that connects.
Cane throws out a loose jab but Touhu uses good head movement to avoid it.

Touhu fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cane avoids it really well and circles away.
Toni Touhu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Touhu fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Quentin Cane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Toni Touhu.

Cane swats away the attempt to clinch by Touhu.
Cane stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Cane swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cane cracks a nice hook into Touhu's ribs.
Cane throws a good cross that connects.
Touhu shoots in for a double leg but Cane sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Cane gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Cane looking to hit a scissor sweep but Touhu is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cane wants to stand up but Touhu is controlling him.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Cane stuffs the takedown attempt from Touhu. Touhu gets slowly back to his feet.
Touhu slips a jab and a cross from Cane.
Cane scores with a nice right hand.
Cane with a jab.
Touhu wants to clinch up but Cane keeps it at a distance.
Touhu has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Cane finds it's way round the side to connect with Touhu's head.

Touhu closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cane to the mat! Cane manages to get full guard.
Cane looking to hit a scissor sweep but Touhu is one step ahead there.
Cane wants to stand but Touhu is controlling the position.

Cane keeping moving, preventing Touhu from controlling successfully.
Touhu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cane swivels though and keeps the full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cane is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Touhu has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cane can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Touhu looking for a guillotine here but Cane defends easily.
Cane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Touhu swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cane lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cane's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Cane in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Cane throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Touhu works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Touhu is trying to control the position but Cane postures up.
Cane landing with the ground and pound.

Cane got a little sloppy there for a moment and Touhu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cane has managed to get both his arms back between Touhu's legs - danger averted.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cane's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Touhu is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cane defends well.
Cane seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quentin Cane dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Cane tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Touhu was well out of range. Poor timing from Cane.
Cane throws a jab when Touhu was well out of range.
Cane lands a jab to Touhu's midsection.
Touhu moves in looking to clinch but Cane pushes him off.
Cane buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Touhu looks to clinch
and Cane counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cane throws a hook but Touhu blocks it.
Cane scores with a shot to the body.
Cane throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Toni Touhu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Touhu drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Touhu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Touhu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Touhu slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Cane wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Cane throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Touhu escapes and throws Cane's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Touhu thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Touhu wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cane, who protects the arm well.
Cane is trying to get back to his feet.

Touhu is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cane is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Touhu is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Touhu!
