Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Flavius Trifu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Tobolowsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Tobolowsky is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Flavius Trifu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steve Tobolowsky! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trifu is looking to slow Tobolowsky down with leg kicks. Trifu throws a leg kick which misses Tobolowsky's front leg but catches the back leg as Tobolowsky tries to avoid it. Tobolowsky tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Trifu swivels and escapes. Trifu throws a head kick that half lands.
Trifu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Trifu looks to land a body kick but Tobolowsky moved away. Trifu tries a head kick but it misses.
Nice body kick there by Trifu. Trifu throws a sloppy head kick and Tobolowsky moves out of range easily. Trifu tries a head kick but it misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trifu throws out a loose jab but Tobolowsky uses good head movement to avoid it. Flavius Trifu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Trifu tries to land a leg kick but Tobolowsky saw it coming and moves away.
Trifu throws a leg kick which misses Tobolowsky's front leg but catches the back leg as Tobolowsky tries to avoid it. Trifu drives through and clinches with Tobolowsky against the cage.
Tobolowsky tries for a takedown. No joy.
Trifu lands a hook to the side of the head. Trifu tries a knee to the head but Tobolowsky blocks it.
Trifu lands with a short head shot on the inside. A nice left hand lands by Trifu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trifu lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Tobolowsky backwards. Tobolowsky is looking to take this one to the mat. Flavius Trifu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Tobolowsky. A short right hand to the side of the head by Trifu. Trifu misses with a knee strike.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Trifu creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Tobolowsky has hold of one of Trifu's legs. Trifu is fighting the takedown attempt but Tobolowsky gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Tobolowsky throws a strike but Trifu rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Trifu engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Tobolowsky working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Trifu has passed into half guard!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tobolowsky looking for a kimura from the bottom but Trifu passes into side control! Trifu just content to control the position. Trifu's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Tobolowsky is looking for a sweep. Tobolowsky is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Tobolowsky is trying to escape the position but Trifu is controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tobolowsky wants to control but Trifu postures up.
We're going to have a standup here because Flavius Trifu wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Trifu misses with a body kick. Tobolowsky avoids a low kick by using good footwork. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Trifu throws a leg kick which misses Tobolowsky's front leg but catches the back leg as Tobolowsky tries to avoid it. Trifu plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Flavius Trifu dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Trifu tries a head kick but it misses.
It looks like Steve Tobolowsky has been cut. Trifu lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Trifu throws a front kick that sends Tobolowsky stumbling back into the cage. Tobolowsky walks forward, straight into a front kick from Trifu. Trifu lands a head kick. Tobolowsky smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Tobolowsky is rocked! A solid leg kick lands there for Trifu.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Trifu misses with an attempted mid kick.
Tobolowsky takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Trifu lands with a slapping head kick. Tobolowsky is still on wobbly legs! Can Trifu finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round. Trifu pushes Tobolowsky up against the cage in a clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Trifu creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Trifu jerks Tobolowsky's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Tobolowsky drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Trifu goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Trifu because Tobolowsky was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
