Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonny Cobain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Nowak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nowak has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Jan Nowak will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cobain drives through with a takedown into guard. Nowak looks gassed! Cobain sitting in guard, not really doing much. Cobain is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Cobain content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Nowak keeping moving, preventing Cobain from controlling successfully. Cobain wanted to stand there but Nowak had control of the position. Cobain stands up over Nowak, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Nowak has a closed guard, preventing Cobain from standing up.

Cobain wants to take a breather but Nowak is having none of it. Cobain could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Cobain is looking to advance position but Nowak won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cobain trying to control the pace. Cobain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nowak keeps working. It looks like Cobain is going to stand back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Well, if Cobain is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Cobain sitting in guard here, content to control. Cobain stands up over Nowak, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Cobain not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Cobain looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cobain gets to his feet - Nowak follows without any prompting. Jan Nowak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cobain throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Cobain closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Cobain scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Nowak to see if he's OK. Cobain landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Nowak managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Cobain.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cobain thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Nowak prevents Cobain from improving position. Cobain postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Cobain in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cobain working the ground and pound. Cobain throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Cobain throws a nice inside leg kick. Nowak keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cobain. Jonny Cobain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cobain shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Cobain was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Cobain controlling the pace for now. Cobain is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Nowak is surviving well by controlling Cobain's body position as best he can. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cobain working the ground and pound effectively.

Cobain trying to control but Nowak is working from the bottom. Cobain pushes down on Nowak's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cobain content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Nowak avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cobain.
