Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Freddy Mohrruebe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Oliver Hall! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hall tries to keep at a distance but Mohrruebe has taken the fight into the clinch. Hall has clasped his hands together around Mohrruebe's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Hall working the head with strikes. Mohrruebe is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hall's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mohrruebe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hall is working away from the top position though. Hall should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Mohrruebe flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Hall is trying to control the action in half guard but Mohrruebe is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Mohrruebe punching from the bottom.
Hall looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mohrruebe works his way to full guard. Good work. Mohrruebe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Mohrruebe is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mohrruebe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mohrruebe tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Mohrruebe tries to close the distance and clinch but Hall swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Mohrruebe moves into range and clinches up with Hall. Mohrruebe gets underhooks to prevent Hall's takedown attempt.
Mohrruebe has Hall pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mohrruebe pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hall tumbling to the mat - Mohrruebe dives into Hall's guard. Hall has momentary wrist control but Mohrruebe slips an elbow through the middle. Mohrruebe postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mohrruebe's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Hall looks gassed! Mohrruebe is pushing down on Hall's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hall is fighting to maintain full guard but Mohrruebe has managed to sneak the leg through. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mohrruebe takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Hall is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mohrruebe scores with a couple of nice shots. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mohrruebe is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Mohrruebe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hall wants to improve his position but Mohrruebe is controlling well.
Mohrruebe wants to control but Hall is keeping him busy. Mohrruebe working Hall over with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mohrruebe seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Mohrruebe working the head and body with strikes. Hall is defending against the submission attempts here by Mohrruebe.
Mohrruebe lands with a punch from half guard. Mohrruebe passes to full mount! Hall is in a horrible position here. Mohrruebe smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Mohrruebe pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Mohrruebe lands with some strikes. Mohrruebe looking to control but Hall is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Mohrruebe scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mohrruebe unloading with bombs! Hall is looking to get to half guard. The referee warns Hall that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Hall is rocked!
It looks like Oliver Hall has been cut. A big strike lands for Mohrruebe! That's really hurt Hall and he's turned his back - Mohrruebe keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Mohrruebe Jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Freddy Mohrruebe!
