0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leo Winfred! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montini looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Winfred! Montini moves into full mount! Montini tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Winfred is in all sorts of trouble here.
Montini controlling from the full mount. Winfred is trying to escape the mount but Montini keeps good control and instead manages to take Winfred's back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Montini has good solid back control here. Winfred defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Montini's arms. Winfred is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Montini controlling the position well here. Winfred rolled but Montini kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Montini has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montini working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Montini is persistently looking for the submission but Winfred is defending it well.
Montini has his arm under Winfred's chin here. Game over son! Montini squeezes tightly and Winfred is forced to tap out!
