Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vadim Lavrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregg Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valentine has chosen Downtown Swinga 96 by MOP as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vadim Lavrov! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 12 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gregg Valentine! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lavrov checks a low kick from Valentine. Lavrov throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. A slow jab from Lavrov misses its intended target. Valentine moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Valentine lands with a shot to the body. Valentine moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Lavrov looks to land a body kick but Valentine moved away. Lavrov staying out of range there. Valentine digs a good body shot into Lavrov's ribs. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Valentine misses with a head kick.
Valentine on the wrong end of a nice jab. Valentine throws a good cross that connects.
Valentine throws a low kick but Lavrov moves out of range easily. Valentine tries a low kick but Lavrov avoids it. Valentine throws a leg kick which misses Lavrov's front leg but catches the back leg as Lavrov tries to avoid it. Valentine keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Lavrov connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Lavrov throws a jab but it's blocked by Valentine. Lavrov throws a half hearted mid kick. Lavrov wants to slow Valentine down by chopping away at his legs. Lavrov delivers a nice body kick. A solid leg kick lands there for Lavrov.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lavrov blocks a jab. Valentine throws a body punch but Lavrov moves out of range. Valentine sends Lavrov crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Valentine is motioning to the referee to let Lavrov up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
It looks like Vadim Lavrov has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Valentine walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Valentine moves out of range of the strikes. Valentine scores with a body shot.
Valentine takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Valentine throws a shot to the body.
Lavrov is breathing heavily. A kick lands to the mid section there for Valentine. Valentine cracks Lavrov with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Lavrov looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Valentine finish him?
Lavrov is rocked! Valentine lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gregg Valentine! Gregg Valentine is the new welterweight champion! An out of breath and clearly excited Gregg Valentine thanked Firebird Designs for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
