PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Seth Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacobo Ibrahim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ibrahim is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Cariño Brutal. Jacobo Ibrahim is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Seth Fisher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jacobo Ibrahim!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fisher fails with the takedown.
Fisher could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ibrahim.
Fisher looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jacobo Ibrahim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fisher is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ibrahim pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seth Fisher. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fisher is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ibrahim gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Ibrahim controls Fisher momentarily but Fisher frees himself.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jacobo Ibrahim.
Fisher tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ibrahim sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fisher somewhat.

Ibrahim will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ibrahim.

and Fisher counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Fisher.

Ibrahim misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Fisher.
Fisher changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ibrahim fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Ibrahim is pressed up against the cage. Fisher has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ibrahim down to the mat. Ibrahim avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Fisher shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ibrahim manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Ibrahim is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

That was a close round but I would say that Seth Fisher will probably get the nod.
That's time! Fisher's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Ibrahim shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Fisher napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fisher stops Ibrahim from passing to mount.
Fisher is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ibrahim has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Fisher on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fisher tries to get out of the position.

The ground and pound from Ibrahim seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Fisher wants to get back to his feet.
Fisher knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ibrahim on the ground.
Ibrahim tries to stand but Fisher controls the position and pulls Ibrahim into his guard.

Ibrahim has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fisher bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ibrahim's guard.
Fisher stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ibrahim swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fisher won't allow Ibrahim to get back to his feet.
Jacobo Ibrahim has got the better of the ground game so far.
Fisher tries to free his leg and advance position but Ibrahim is retaining full guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jacobo Ibrahim wasn't active enough on the ground.

Ibrahim shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ibrahim was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Fisher tries to bench press Ibrahim off him but Ibrahim keeps the position.

Jacobo Ibrahim showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Ibrahim won't allow Fisher to pass to mount.

Fisher seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ibrahim does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Ibrahim takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fisher works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Fisher throwing strikes but Ibrahim manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Seth Fisher showed his dominance in that final round.
