Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francisco Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lucas Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Francisco Gonzales! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gonzales shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Gonzales shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Gonzales was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Jones is trying to improve his position. Jones avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Gonzales. You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Gonzales trying to control the position but Jones is working away. Gonzales in the domination position with Jones hanging on. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is controlling Gonzales's trapped leg to prevent Gonzales from advancing to side control. Jones is trying to get back to full guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gonzales shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gonzales paws at him with a jab and circles away. Gonzales bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jones's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gonzales fails with the takedown. Lucas Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Francisco Gonzales. Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gonzales swivels and escapes. Gonzales tries for a takedown but Jones circles away easily and Jones counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jones. This has been an exciting period of action! Jones controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Jones content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Gonzales trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.

Gonzales looks winded! Jones content to stall in guard here. Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gonzales swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gonzales manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Gonzales wants to control the action but instead Jones gets a body lock and reverses into Gonzales's guard! Nice work!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lucas Jones dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Gonzales, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Gonzales against the cage but Gonzales circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jones closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Gonzales manages to break the clinch.
Nice defenses there by Gonzales. Lucas Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gonzales tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jones is in Gonzales's guard. Gonzales not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jones looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Jones has gone for a leg lock! Gonzales slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jones's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gonzales postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it. Gonzales wants to stand but Jones has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Jones wants to control the position but Gonzales says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Jones wants to get back to full guard. Jones is staying active underneath Gonzales, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Jones is trying to stand back up but Gonzales is controlling him
Gonzales is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to get back to full guard. Lucas Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jones is trying to stand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gonzales seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Jones avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gonzales. Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Jones wants to get back to full guard. Jones is trying to control but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gonzales is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gonzales to get the leverage. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gonzales in particular looking to stall. Gonzales wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it. Jones regains full guard. Nicely done. Gonzales stopping the sweep attempt from Jones. Gonzales stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lucas Jones dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gonzales is defended easily by Jones. Gonzales fails to land with a series of punches.

Jones working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Jones is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gonzales has escaped the position, nice work there. Gonzales seems a little lost for a moment, as Jones dominates the positioning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gonzales wants to control but Jones postures up. Jones advances to full mount. Jones lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Gonzales hang on? Jones with a couple of short strikes. Gonzales tries to lock up and control but Jones gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Gonzales?

Jones lands with some strikes. Gonzales sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Jones is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gonzales! Gonzales can't escape the position.
Jones content just to control the position here. Francisco Gonzales has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee warns Gonzales that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Lucas Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
