7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Akiyama Shinichi! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A kick lands to the mid section there for Banks. Banks misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Carlton Banks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shinichi takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Shinichi passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Banks! Shinichi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Banks is looking to escape. Shinichi controlling from the full mount. Shinichi working for a submission but Banks is keeping him at bay. Shinichi wants to finish this one by submission but Banks is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Shinichi. Banks really wants to buck Shinichi off and get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shinichi trying to control but Banks is having none of it. Banks squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Banks can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Shinichi jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Banks is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Banks and Shinichi has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shinichi tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Carlton Banks will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Shinichi is defending well for now. Banks pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Banks throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Banks lands an elbow inside. Shinichi tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Banks throws an elbow that misses.
Shinichi tries to work over Banks's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Nice elbow from Banks. Shinichi dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Shinichi has picked Banks up - he's going for a ride! Shinichi dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Banks pushes Shinichi off looking to stand but Shinichi dives back in and keeps control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shinichi is looking to pass Banks's guard but actually Banks recovers to full guard. That was a close second round but I would say that Carlton Banks will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

He's pushed Banks off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Banks screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
