Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Toki Mazuke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lenzi Tapera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tapera looking to score a takedown here. Mazuke is defending well but Tapera drives through and ends up in Mazuke's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Tapera trying to control the position from guard on top but Mazuke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mazuke looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mazuke working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tapera doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tapera manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Mazuke looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Tapera trying to control the position from guard on top but Mazuke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tapera got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mazuke has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tapera has managed to get both his arms back between Mazuke's legs - danger averted. Tapera wants to control from the top but Mazuke keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mazuke could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lenzi Tapera has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Tapera doesn't succeed with the takedown and Mazuke cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Tapera looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mazuke! Tapera trying to control the action but Mazuke is working from the bottom. Mazuke is looking to regain half guard here but Tapera keeps moving and retains side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mazuke manages to get back to half guard. Mazuke is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tapera pulls his head out easily.
