Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ari Cavanhas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nawareg Saber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saber fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Cavanhas to the ground. Saber is now in Cavanhas's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Saber tries to stand but Cavanhas is controlling from the bottom. Cavanhas working a defensive guard here.
Saber must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Saber postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Saber throws a big right hand that misses. Saber is sitting in close to Cavanhas's body. Cavanhas has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Saber is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Saber is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Cavanhas.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ari Cavanhas!
