Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roger Scarpavi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eduardo Acosta!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Acosta's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Scarpavi connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Acosta scrambles back to his feet.

Acosta tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Scarpavi swivels and escapes.

Acosta shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Scarpavi but Scarpavi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Roger Scarpavi has been cut.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Acosta is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Scarpavi to keep the fight standing.

Acosta ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Acosta no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Scarpavi has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Acosta is proving hard to escape from.

Acosta throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Scarpavi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Scarpavi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Scarpavi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Acosta.
Scarpavi shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Acosta eats them both and turns towards Scarpavi to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
