PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Halibut Halibut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Leonidas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Halibut might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Peter You Suck. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halibut getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Leonidas shoots in but Halibut avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Halibut misses with a few strikes there.
Leonidas takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Leonidas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Halibut moves away.
Leonidas fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Leonidas shoots for a takedown but Halibut saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Halibut Halibut has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King Leonidas.
Halibut lands a slapping body shot.
Halibut stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Leonidas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Halibut is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Leonidas wants to pass the guard but Halibut is defending well.

Halibut is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Leonidas thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Leonidas connects with a nice short shot to Halibut's temple.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Halibut throws a nice looking combination but Leonidas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Halibut throws a series of punches but Leonidas avoids them all with ease.
Leonidas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Halibut.
Leonidas fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Halibut ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Leonidas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Halibut's waist but Halibut gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Leonidas off to one side.

Halibut moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Leonidas is rocked!
Halibut lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Leonidas can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Halibut and Leonidas drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Halibut.
