Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Lie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lie has chosen we right here as his entrance music. Mike Lie looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Lie! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Diaz avoids a punch combination nicely.
Diaz has closed the distance and engaged Lie in a clinch.
Diaz is looking to break free of the clinch but Lie has double underhooks. Diaz lands a nice uppercut. Lie is trying to force a seperation but Diaz has the dominant position. Diaz leaning against his opponent.
Diaz tries to circle away but Lie has him pinned against the ropes. Lie can't break the clinch.
Lie breaks from the clinch.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Diaz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Diaz stands up. Diaz closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Lie wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Lie wants to break the clinch but can't.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lie manages to break the clinch.
Diaz has Lie up against the ropes in a clinch.
Diaz has picked Lie up - he's going for a ride! Diaz dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Diaz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Diaz tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lie knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Diaz wants to work for an arm triangle but Lie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Diaz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lie with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Lie is defending against the submission attempts here by Diaz.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Diaz is looking for a kimura but Lie is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Diaz to get the leverage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lie tries to kick Diaz off but Diaz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Lie tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Diaz!
