Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Grant Benton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshio Osami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benton gets in close and instigates a clinch. Benton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Osami throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Osami connects with a good right hand that stumbles Benton. Benton circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
It looks like Grant Benton has been cut. Benton displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Osami throws out the jab. Benton slips under a jab from Osami. Osami lands a glancing blow to the side of Benton's head. Osami throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Benton sees it coming and avoids it easily. Osami misses with a right hand and Benton counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Osami thinking. Osami tries to bum rush Benton with a series of wild strikes but Benton uses good footwork to avoid the assault. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Osami lands with a cross. Osami misses with a left hand and Benton counters with a nice uppercut. Osami slaps away a takedown attempt from Benton, before circling back to the center of the mat. Nice shot by Osami. Osami lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Good standup being displayed there by Benton as he connects with a hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. A jab from Osami misses. Osami throws a looping overhand right but Benton ducks down to avoid it. Benton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Osami but Osami pushes him off and we're back to square one. Osami missing with a left hand there. Benton was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Osami loads up on a big right hand but Benton slips the punch. Osami looks to land a left hand but Benton moved out of range nicely. Benton gets in close and instigates a clinch. Benton misses with some punches.
Osami's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Benton wants to clinch up but Osami keeps it at a distance. Osami scores with a three punch combo!
Osami displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Benton. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Grant Benton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Osami digs a good hook to Benton's body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Benton defending well as Osami loads up on a big left hand. Osami lands a glancing blow to the side of Benton's head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Osami closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Benton is rocked! Osami misses with a wild body shot. Osami loads up on a big right hand but Benton slips the punch. Osami throws a right hand that Benton ducks under and follows up with a left that Benton also avoids with ease. Osami fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Benton manages to avoid it. Osami misses with a series of wild punches.

Benton takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Benton slips under a jab. Osami might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Benton fails to land the takedown. Benton tries to clinch there but Osami circles away.
Osami scores with a decent looking hook. Oooooh!!! Osami has knocked Benton down with a huge combo! Osami steps away and waves a wobbly Benton back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! Oh Benton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Yoshio Osami is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Osami throws a sloppy body shot

Grant Benton's cut is getting worse. Osami digs a good body shot into Benton's ribs. Osami cracks Benton with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Benton looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Osami finish him?
Osami misses with a hook. Benton uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Osami.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Osami uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Osami missing with a left hand there. Benton was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Benton avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Osami throws a right hand that Benton ducks under and follows up with a left that Benton also avoids with ease. The fighters circling - Osami throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Osami misses with a two punch combination.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Benton. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Osami throws an off balance right hand
and Benton holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Osami blocking some punches.
Benton makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. A head punch on the inside from Osami fails to land. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Benton scores with an uppercut up the middle. Benton wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Osami. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yoshio Osami dominated that round. The cut man is working on Grant Benton's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Osami moves into range and connects with a jab. Osami fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Osami misses with a right hand and Benton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Osami misses with an uppercut. Benton saw that one coming. Osami misses with a hook
and Benton counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Osami thinking. Jab, jab by Osami - just one landing. Benton throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Osami tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Benton is in Osami's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Osami is wriggling around but Benton manages to pass to half guard.
Benton content to control rather than advance. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Benton decides to return to a standing position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Benton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Osami takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Osami scores with a sloppy right hand. Benton should have avoided that one. Good exchange - Osami coming out on top. Osami missing with a left hand there. Benton was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Yoshio Osami seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Benton takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Osami throws a combination. Benton tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Grant Benton's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Osami drops Benton with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Benton looks back up at him and smiles so Osami waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Osami lands a brutal uppercut that launches Benton off his feet! Benton tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Yoshio Osami! Yoshio Osami retains his lightweight title! Yoshio Osami decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
