Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Preston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lazano De Anda!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Preston changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. De Anda looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Preston misses with the ground and pound.
Preston scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at De Anda to see if he's OK.
De Anda sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
De Anda makes his way to full guard. A much better position for De Anda.
Preston postures up in De Anda's guard and throws a big left but De Anda blocks it.
Preston is looking to work some ground and pound but De Anda has wrist control.
Preston looking to sit in guard and control but De Anda gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
De Anda sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Preston's guard.
De Anda wants to control but Preston is keeping him busy.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
De Anda wants to free his trapped foot but Preston is holding on for dear life with his legs.

De Anda is looking to take a break and control but Preston is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

De Anda tries to clinch but Preston moves out of range.

De Anda working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Preston doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Preston manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

De Anda is pressed up against the cage. Preston has hold of a leg and is looking to drag De Anda down to the mat. De Anda avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Preston. That's going to take a lot out of him.
De Anda tries to clinch up but Preston circles away and keeps his distance.

Preston looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? De Anda is fending him off so far but Preston persists. Nope, De Anda circles away and we're back to standing.
De Anda connects with a body shot that sends Preston's belly button to the back.
De Anda works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
De Anda moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
De Anda lands a glancing blow to the side of Preston's head.


Preston is rocked!
De Anda drops Preston with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Preston! De Anda dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lazano De Anda!
