Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ferdinand Gomez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ivan Krazenkov! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Gomez enables Krazenkov to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gomez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Gomez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Krazenkov is stalling in the full guard. Gomez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gomez tries to get out of the position. Gomez working for a triangle but Krazenkov defends it easily.
Krazenkov wants to control from the top but Gomez keeps moving. Krazenkov forces his way into half guard. Gomez wants to control but Krazenkov is keeping busy.

Gomez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Krazenkov sitting and controlling from the half guard. Krazenkov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ivan Krazenkov wasn't active enough on the ground. Gomez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Krazenkov. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gomez.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Krazenkov fails with the takedown and Gomez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Krazenkov's guard now. Krazenkov wants to sweep here but Gomez controlling him for the moment. Gomez wants to stand but Krazenkov has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Krazenkov has an active guard here but Gomez has managed to pass into half guard.

Krazenkov is not content to let Gomez control the position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Krazenkov wants to get back to full guard. Krazenkov trying to hold on to Gomez's head to control him but Gomez postures up.

Ivan Krazenkov has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Krazenkov showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gomez.
Gomez looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Krazenkov! Krazenkov is looking to reverse the position. Gomez is looking to take a break and control but Krazenkov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gomez scores with a couple of short elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ferdinand Gomez will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Ferdinand Gomez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Krazenkov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Gomez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Krazenkov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gomez wants to clinch up but Krazenkov keeps it at a distance. Krazenkov has his takedown stuffed and Gomez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Sloppy strikes from Krazenkov. Those never looked like landing. Krazenkov drives through with a takedown into guard. Gomez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Krazenkov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Krazenkov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Gomez wants to stand and escape but Krazenkov is having none of it.

Krazenkov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Krazenkov trying to control the position from guard on top but Gomez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Gomez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ivan Krazenkov was stalling too much, according to the referee. Gomez shoots in looking for a takedown. Krazenkov tries to sprawl out of it but Gomez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Krazenkov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krazenkov misses with a body kick. Krazenkov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gomez tries to avoid it but Krazenkov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gomez to the ground. Gomez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Krazenkov shoots in and drives through. Gomez sprawls well. Ferdinand Gomez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Krazenkov. Krazenkov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Gomez tries to get back to half guard but can't. Gomez takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Gomez tries to buck Krazenkov off but Krazenkov is having none of it. Krazenkov wants to stand but Gomez has his arm trapped.

Gomez struggling a bit here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gomez sneaks back into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Krazenkov is looking to take a break and control but Gomez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gomez is looking for a sweep. Krazenkov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gomez trying to hold on to Krazenkov's head to control him but Krazenkov postures up.

Krazenkov shoots in looking for a takedown but Gomez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Krazenkov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Krazenkov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Krazenkov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gomez fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Krazenkov to the ground. Gomez is now in Krazenkov's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ferdinand Gomez. Gomez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Krazenkov's half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Krazenkov wants to clinch. Krazenkov fails with a takedown attempt. Ferdinand Gomez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Krazenkov. Krazenkov fails with a takedown attempt. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gomez gets a clinch. Gomez has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Krazenkov clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
