Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Castle Irons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank James!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James closes the distance and clinches up with Irons, looking for a takedown. James pushes Irons against the cage but Irons circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Irons is looking to slow James down with leg kicks.
James uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Irons.
James tries for a takedown but Irons sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Irons buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
James takes one to the side of the head.
Irons pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Irons lands a nice hook to James's body. James takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Whack! Irons lands a heavy head kick that drops James. The ref tackles Irons to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because James was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Castle Irons!
