Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assis fails with a takedown attempt.
Assis showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dowd.
Assis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Assis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Amadeo Assis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dowd smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Assis tries for a takedown but Dowd sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Assis shoots in for a double leg but Dowd sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Wellen Dowd is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Assis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Assis is breathing heavily.
Assis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dowd but Dowd pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Amadeo Assis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dowd connects with a jab.
Dowd throws a head kick that misses.
Dowd throws a nice looking combination but Assis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Dowd throws a monster overhand right that drops Assis! Dowd follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
