Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Pesina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Patterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dominic Pesina! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Patterson dives in and grabs Pesina's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pesina pushes down on Patterson's head and hops out. Patterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Patterson throws a front kick aimed at Pesina's knee but Pesina avoids it well. Patterson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pesina swivels and escapes. Patterson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pesina paws at him with a jab and circles away. A head kick by Pesina misses and Patterson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Pesina shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Patterson defends it nicely. Pesina looks winded! Pesina throws a lazy head kick and Patterson counters with a crisp right hand that drops Pesina! Patterson lets Pesina back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Pesina is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Pesina gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Patterson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Pesina is still in real trouble! Can Patterson finish him? Patterson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pesina swivels though and keeps the full guard. Patterson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Patterson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Patterson wants to pass the guard but Pesina is keeping the position. Pesina seems to have recovered his senses. Patterson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up. James Patterson wasn't doing enough on the ground. Patterson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pesina manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Patterson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Pesina's guard. Pesina keeping moving, preventing Patterson from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Patterson stays in close to Pesina's body and controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
We're going to have a standup here because James Patterson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Patterson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Patterson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Patterson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pesina knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Patterson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patterson takes a little break here. Pesina wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Patterson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Patterson throws a strike aimed at the side of Pesina's head but Pesina avoids it well. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Patterson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Pesina sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Patterson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Patterson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Patterson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Patterson darts in and clinches Pesina up against the cage. Pesina is defending well against a takedown attempt. Patterson wants the takedown. Pesina is fighting it off but Patterson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Pesina's guard against the cage. Patterson trying to control the position from guard on top but Pesina is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Patterson throws a big elbow that misses. James Patterson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Patterson trying to control but Pesina is working from the bottom. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
James Patterson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Patterson moves into the clinch successfully.
Pesina is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. A frustrated look appears on Pesina's face as he tries to break the clinch. Pesina is trying to force a seperation but Patterson has the dominant position. Patterson pulls guard. Patterson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pesina can do to turn this around? Pesina won't allow Patterson to sweep him here. Patterson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pesina! Patterson working for a submission but Pesina is keeping him at bay. Patterson connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Patterson is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Patterson extends the arm and Pesina is forced to tap!

A very excited looking James Patterson made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
