Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Apollo Takamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nick Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takamura cracks Lewis with a right hand to the side of the head.
Lewis lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Lewis throws a hook but Takamura avoids it easily.
Takamura misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lewis scores with a jab to the head.
Lewis throws a leg kick that is checked
and Takamura counters with a right hand to the body.
Lewis tries to clinch up
and Takamura counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Takamura avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Takamura's corner calls for a 1-2. Takamura obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Takamura lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lewis has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lewis and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Lewis throws a right hand that Takamura ducks under and follows up with a left that Takamura also avoids with ease.

Nick Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Takamura checks a leg kick.
Takamura throws a head kick that half lands.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A big left from Lewis misses.
Nice defenses there by Takamura.
Lewis tries to bum rush Takamura with a series of wild strikes but Takamura uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Lewis darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Lewis misses with a low kick as Takamura jumps back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lewis tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Takamura is able to avoid easily.

and Takamura cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Lewis feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Takamura's calf.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Apollo Takamura will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Lewis throws a solid leg kick but Takamura takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Lewis.

Lewis closes the distance and clinches.

Lewis using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Takamura has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Takamura wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Lewis gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Lewis blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Takamura avoids a wild elbow strike from Lewis.

With the fighters up against the ropes, Lewis throws an elbow but misses.

Takamura breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

A nice right hand lands inside from Takamura.

A nice left hand lands by Lewis.
Lewis has a couple of punches blocked by Takamura.
Takamura doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Lewis lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Lewis is trying to push Takamura away but Takamura has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
Lewis comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Lewis tries to stall but Takamura uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Takamura wants to break the clinch but can't.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lewis lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Lewis misses with an elbow over the top.
Takamura dodges an elbow strike from Lewis.
Lewis throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lewis misses with the head strike.

Takamura escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lewis ducks under a wild hook from Takamura.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Lewis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Takamura cracks Lewis with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Lewis throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Lewis scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Lewis lands a glancing blow to the side of Takamura's head.
Oh Takamura is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lewis closes the distance and lands a lead uppercut that stumbles Takamura back against the ropes! Lewis follows up with a jab and a huge straight right that knocks Takamura out cold! What a finish! Lewis looks absolutely delighted, as he should do! Congratulations that man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Nick Lewis!
After winning the bout, Nick Lewis thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
