The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lauringer connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kvasov momentarily.
Lauringer tries to close the distance and clinch but Kvasov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lauringer lands a jab.
Roman Kvasov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lauringer punishes Kvasov's body with a nice straight punch.
Kvasov takes a jab right on the kisser.
Kvasov throws a front kick aimed at Lauringer's knee but Lauringer avoids it well.

Lauringer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kvasov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Kvasov lands a left and a right that send Lauringer crashing to the mat, dazed. Kvasov thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lauringer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kvasov.
Lauringer stalks Kvasov and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kvasov's face. Kvasov staggers backwards, shaken.
Kvasov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kvasov misses with the combination.
Lauringer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lauringer slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Kvasov gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lauringer.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lauringer swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kvasov.
Kvasov is rocked!
Kvasov gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Lauringer gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Kvasov is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ewert Lauringer!
