Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, mr Benn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tommy Van Worstof!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benn keeps the fight on the outside.

Benn darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Benn is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Benn is keen to just control but Van Worstof is a slippery customer.

Benn is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Benn is trying to work for a kimura but Van Worstof is defending well.
Van Worstof is staying active underneath Benn, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Benn looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Benn is looking for a kimura here.

Benn is working for a kimura but Van Worstof is defending it quite comfortably.

Van Worstof tries to kick Benn off but Benn keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Well, if Benn is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Benn thows a huge punch but Van Worstof dodges it nicely.
Van Worstof is staying active underneath Benn, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Benn throws a strike but Van Worstof avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Benn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Van Worstof works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Benn controlling from the top position.
Benn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Van Worstof swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Benn drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Van Worstof manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Benn has Van Worstof in his guard.
Benn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Benn is looking to sweep but instead, Van Worstof has passed into half guard.
Van Worstof wants to stand but Benn has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Van Worstof passes into side control, despite Benn's attempt to control the position.
Benn is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Benn. Van Worstof shrugs it off though.

Benn throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Van Worstof tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Benn is in Van Worstof's guard.
Benn loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Van Worstof can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Benn controls the pace.
Van Worstof wants to stand up but Benn is controlling him.
Benn postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Benn content to stall in guard here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Van Worstof keeping moving, preventing Benn from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up because mr Benn just wasn't active enough.

Benn instigates a clinch.
Van Worstof pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Van Worstof tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Van Worstof throws an elbow but it misses.
Benn drops down looking for an ankle pick but Van Worstof pulls his leg out and moves away.
Benn fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Benn instigates a clinch.

Benn misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Van Worstof.
Van Worstof with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Van Worstof throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Benn blocks it with crossed arms.
Benn blocks the elbow strike.
Van Worstof can't get the takedown.
Van Worstof is breathing heavily.
Van Worstof tries to circle away but Benn has him pinned against the cage.
Knees in the clinch landing for Benn.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Van Worstof is pressed up against the cage. Benn has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Van Worstof down to the mat. Van Worstof avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Benn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Benn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Van Worstof is keeping the position for now.
Benn sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Van Worstof's guard.
Benn tries to pass the half guard into mount. Van Worstof knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Benn keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Benn tries to pass to full mount but Van Worstof defends it.
mr Benn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Van Worstof avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Benn.
Benn is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Benn is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Van Worstof doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Benn.

Benn is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Benn lands a nice short elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Well, if Benn is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Benn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Van Worstof throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Benn.

Benn shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Van Worstof's guard.
Benn stays in close to Van Worstof's body and controls the position.
Benn working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Benn looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Benn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. mr Benn wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Benn shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Benn showed some decent athleticism there.

Benn is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Benn trying to pass the guard but Van Worstof defending well.
Benn works his foot free and advances to mount.
Benn breaks from Van Worstof's wrist control and lands an elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Benn throwing strikes here but Van Worstof is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Benn goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Van Worstof turns into him and now he's in Benn's guard.
Benn looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Van Worstof wanted to stand there but Benn had control of the position.
Benn controlling the position.

Benn has a closed guard, preventing Van Worstof from standing up.
Van Worstof takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Benn tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Benn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Van Worstof can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Benn is adopting a defensive guard.
Tommy Van Worstof has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
mr Benn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

mr Benn showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Benn has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
