The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamotta shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Leonard pinned against the cage. Leonard gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lamotta throws a looping overhand right but Leonard ducks down to avoid it.
Leonard throws a hook to the side of Lamotta's head but Lamotta sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Leonard misses with an uppercut. Lamotta saw that one coming.
Leonard swings for the body but Lamotta moves out of range.
Leonard shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lamotta's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
