Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Phil Blaze! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Lilburne! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lilburne throws a leg kick that misses. John Lilburne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blaze takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Blaze moves out of range as Lilburne throws a body kick.
Lilburne throws a head kick but Blaze moves out of range.
Blaze looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Blaze jabs Lilburne to the body, keeping him at a distance. Blaze lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Blaze checks a low kick from Lilburne. Blaze looks to score with a jab to the body but Lilburne is just out of range. Lilburne blocks a head kick by Blaze.
Blaze takes one on the button. Lilburne takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Lilburne takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Blaze ducks into a a hook from Lilburne and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue! Blaze throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lilburne sees it coming and avoids it easily. Lilburne uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Blaze. Blaze steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Lilburne. That one must have hurt. Lilburne connects with a right hand. Blaze shakes it off.
Blaze is rocked! Lilburne plants his feet and throws a devastating head kick! It connects square on Blaze's ear and has knocked him out cold! No need for a count here as the referee immediately tends to a stricken Blaze, crumpled in the corner! Wow, what a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). John Lilburne!
