Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kris Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Cid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cid has chosen There's No Home for You Here as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Xavier Cid enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kris Marsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Xavier Cid!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cid throws a nice outside leg kick.
A big left from Marsh misses.
Cid attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Marsh throws a hook but Cid blocks it.

Marsh feints and as Cid raises his hands in defense, Marsh changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cid not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Marsh trying to control but Cid is working from the bottom.
Marsh advances position into side control!
Cid is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marsh tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Cid tries to bench press Marsh off him but Marsh keeps the position.

Cid can't do much from the bottom here.
Cid is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Cid dodges the ground and pound from Marsh.
A lull in the action here as Marsh stalls from top position.

You can see the frustration on Cid's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cid is looking to reverse the position.
Marsh is looking to take a break and control but Cid is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Marsh tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Marsh sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cid is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The ground and pound from Marsh seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Cid is looking for a sweep.
Marsh wants to take a breather but Cid manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Marsh.
Cid wants to sweep here but Marsh controlling him for the moment.

Cid can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Marsh controls the pace.
Cid pulls Marsh in close to prevent any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Marsh wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cid wants to land a leg kick but Marsh is out of range.
Cid has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Marsh.
Cid looks for the body kick but Marsh saw that one coming.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kris Marsh dominated that round.
That's time! Marsh's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Cid walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Marsh checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Kris Marsh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Marsh looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Cid!

Marsh thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ground and pound from Marsh seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Marsh in side control, throwing shots but Cid defends.
Cid is not content to let Marsh control the position.
Cid is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cid is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Marsh is trying to get an arm triangle but Cid is defending well.
Marsh working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Cid is looking to regain half guard here but Marsh keeps moving and retains side control.

Marsh looking to control but instead Cid has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Marsh connects with a nice short shot to Cid's temple.

Marsh thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cid's head.
Marsh seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cid does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Marsh lands strikes from half guard.
Marsh is trying to control the action in half guard but Cid is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Cid has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Marsh is working away from the top position though.
Marsh is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Cid!
Cid manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Cid, under a barage of strikes from Marsh.
Kris Marsh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Marsh is looking to take a break and control but Cid is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Cid trying to hold on to Marsh's head to control him but Marsh postures up.
Marsh wants to pass to mount but Cid is defending the position.
Marsh thows a huge punch but Cid dodges it nicely.
Marsh tries to pass to full mount but Cid defends it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Marsh passes into side control, despite Cid's attempt to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kris Marsh dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


A jab lands there for Marsh.

Marsh drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Marsh working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Marsh misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Cid managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Marsh.

Marsh takes a little break here. Cid wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The ground and pound from Marsh seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Marsh is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cid has escaped the position, nice work there.

Cid is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Marsh's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Marsh wants to control but Cid is keeping him busy.
Cid regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Marsh.
Marsh has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Marsh might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Marsh wants to control from the top but Cid keeps moving.

Marsh postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cid is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Marsh, into his guard.

Marsh wants to sweep but no luck.
Cid trying to control the position from guard on top but Marsh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cid is stalling in the full guard.
Marsh looking for a sweep. Not yet Marsh, not yet.
Cid trying to control but Marsh is working from the bottom.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Marsh escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cid gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Marsh has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Xavier Cid hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Marsh looks to land a left hand but Cid moved out of range nicely.
Marsh swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Cid staying out of range there.
Cid lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Cid throws out a leg kick but Marsh moves out of range and Cid only half commits.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Marsh counters with a shoot takedown. Cid fights it but they end up in guard.
Xavier Cid has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Marsh seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kris Marsh showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Marsh has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
